Today, November 7th, is a special day for Mass Effect fans. Dubbed “N7 Day,” today is a celebration of BioWare’s space opera Mass Effect. What makes today even more special is that it’s the 10th anniversary of the original Mass Effect game.
And while its been pretty bleak for the iconic franchise of late thanks, in part, to the tepid reception of Mass Effect: Andromeda, today’s retrospective video gives us hope that there is a future for the Mass Effect franchise. After all, Mass Effect has always had underlying themes of hope and ambition in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds.
So in today’s celebratory retrospective video, we take a look back at 10 years of Mass Effect, and EA leaves us with some words of encouragement:
“The future of Mass Effect is really bright. People just want to know more about place, these characters.”
“We love the idea of creating worlds and letting people continue to enjoy the worlds that we create. Seeing this universe continue to expand has just been an amazing experience and something I’ll never forget.”
Mass Effect Andromeda was recently put onto EA and Origin Access, and although the game was not received as well as previous entries in the series, it very much sounds like there’s hope for more Mass Effect somewhere down the line.
