Madden 18 Ratings: Top 5 QBs revealed

Continuing to reveal player ratings in Madden 18, EA has unveiled the top 5 quarterbacks in this year’s game. Surprise, surprise, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers top the list, but who rounds out the top 5 QBs in Madden NFL 15?

1. Tom Brady, New England Patriots – 99 Overall

If you’re surprised by this, you’ve probably been living under a rock the past 10 years, or just completely in denial. The cover athlete of Madden 18, and possibly the GOAT, it’s no surprise Tom Brady is the best quarterback in this year’s game. Of course, there will always be those who attempt to argue “age will finally catch up to the great one.”

Until age rears its ugly head, Tom Brady remains a 99 Overall with 99 Awareness. EA didn’t reveal his Throw Power or Throw Accuracy, but we have to assume those are also pretty high if he’s in the 99 Club.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers – 98 Overall

One could certainly make the argument that Aaron Rodgers is physically a better quarterback than Brady, and that he’s certainly got the greatest set of intangibles at the position. But he’s currently on the waiting list for Club 99. Again, no actual Throw Accuracy or Throw Power ratings were revealed, so we have to assume is 97 Awareness is the difference maker. He also boasts 79 Speed and an outstanding 97 Throw on the Run.

3. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons – 96 Overall

Matt Ryan quietly put on a show last year, and was technically the best QB of 2016. He led the league in most passing stats, and his Overall has certainly seen an increase between season. Whereas he entered last year at 84, Ryan is now a 96 Overall! Perhaps if he hadn’t choked away a 28-3 lead, he’d be in Club 99 as well.

4. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints – 92 Overall

A staple atop the Madden quarterback charts. Drew Brees boasts a 92 Overall with 99 Awareness. Perhaps what’s most surprising is his 70 Juke rating, which should help avoid pressure in the pocket.

5. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers – 91 Overall

Rounding out the top 5 is Ben Roethlisberger with 91 Overall. Big Ben stands in the pocket like a tower and is just as hard to bring down. It shows in his 82 Strength rating, the highest among QBs. He’s also got 93 Throw on the Run, second only to Rodgers.

Honorable Mentions

Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson are the last two QBs rated 90 or above.

Cam Newton is starting the year at 88 Overall, but EA suggests that he could climb back into the 90s quickly via roster updates should he prove himself to be Super Cam once again.
